DUBAI:Beaten,trapped,abused and underpaid,migrant domestic workers in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries are vulnerable and regularly subjected to abuse like slaves. A 61-year-old Emirati woman is in court for torturing and starving her Indonesian maid to death. The Court of First Instance said the maid was deprived of her freedom by being confined to staying in the villa and staving her until she died,she was also believed to have been physically abused. The employer had had her house windows and gate all wired with metalic wires to restric the victim's freedom. The Bur Dubai Police discovered the maid's body at her employer's villa on September 16,2015.And a forensic expert who examined the body,confirmed that the victim had been made to stave for a long time prior to her death. Injury marks found all over her body suggested that she had been beaten up. Crime scene invesigation also revealed visible blood stains and also detected others that had been washed in the villa.
