ABIDJAN(IVORY COAST):It have been reported that atleast twelve people were killed and several others injured as gunmen opened fire on hotel Etoile du Sud,in the coastal city of Grand-Bassam. The gunmen are thought to still be on the loose and many have been taken hostages. Witnesses reported hearing the gunmen shout "Allahu Akbar" (God is great) as they opened fire. It was a popular location with Westerners,and several Lebanese citizens were among the casualties. According to reports,the attack was carried out by more than 13 gunmen who came by the sea at the targeted area and opened fire indiscriminately on staff and customers,causing heavy casualties. No group has claimed responsibilities yet. The military authorities have sealed off the area. Grand-Bassam is about 40km to the east of the commercial capital city of Abidjan.
