Turkey:A crossing point for IS supporters wanting to join the terrorists in Syria?
ABUJA,Nigeria:Turkey,a country bordered by eight countries:Syria and Iraq to,the south;Iran,Armenia,and the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan to the east;Georgia to the northeast;Bulgeria to the northwest;and Greece to the west has in the recent times been looked at as the crossing point for terrorists and supporters of the deadly Islamic State ravaging parts of the middle-east-Syria,Iraq and Libya.
Until resently it had remained difficult for various security outfits across the continents to know how recuites from the UK and other parts of the world made it undetected to Syria to join the IS terror group.
Islamic State terror group which claims to have fighters from the UK,France,Germany and other European countries as well as the US,the Arab world and the Causcaseis is now recruiting from Nigeria.
The Syrian envoy to Nigeria,Dr.Shafik Daiyob in an interview on September 4,2015 with Punch correspondent revealed that IS supporters who were given visas by Turkish embassy enter Syria through Turkey.
