YENAGOA:Police confirmation from Yenagoa,Bayelsa state,has it that gunmen suspected to be sea pirates attacked a JTF base,killing five operatives. The gunmen who came in five speedboats attacked the Joint Military Task Force Base at Nembe Waterfront in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa state. The gunmen killed four soldiers and one policeman,while one other policeman is missing. The attack happened on Friday at around 11:30pm. Confirming the incident,the Police Public Relations Officer.mr.Asinim Butswat,said the gunmen also made away with some weapons from the base. He said the combined team of the JTF,Marine Police and the Navy are searching out the creeks to recover the stolen weapons and arrest the criminals.
