Pope Francis celebrates Mass in Bosnia-Herzegovina
Pope Francis celebrated Mass before thousands of Catholics at a stadium in Sarajevo,the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Pope Francis also met with members of the Muslim community,Orthodox Christians and the Jewish communities.
His visit to the capital Sarajevo was meant to promote peace and reconciliation across the country.
Bosnia has remained divided along religious and ethnic lines ever since the civil war which drastically reduced the populations of Catholic faithfuls.
The Pontiff said before the hudge crowd,"War never again"
"War means children,women,and the elderly in refugee camps; It means forced displacement,detroyed houses,streets and factories.Above all countless shattered lives"
Between 1992-95,Bosnia civil war left some 100,000 people dead and more than two million displaced.
Pope Francis also said,"The world is facing a kind of third world war being fought piecemeal."
