AFGHANISTAN:A young woman named Rokhsahana,whose age was put between 19 and 21,had been stoned to death in Ghalmeen,40km from the Ghor provincial capital of Firozkola. According to local reports,Rokhsahana's family was said to had married her off to a man without her consent. But she tried to elope with another man of her age before she was caught by local authorities in the Talian controlled area. Rokhsahana was thrown into a dug hole as group men casually hurled stones at her with sickening thuds. Rokhsahana repeatedly riciting the shahada,or Muslim profession of faith,with her voice growing increasingly high-pitched as the stones hit her. Ghor police chief Mustafa Mohsen confirmed the incident and said it happened two weeks ago in the Taliban-controlled Ghalmeen. The man whom she was eloping with was not killed. Joyanda,one of Afghan's only two female governors said Rokhsahana had been stoned to death by Taliban,local religious leaders and irresponsible armed warlords.
