The Nigeria National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) on Monday failed in its bid to take the senator-elect Mr.Buruji Kashamu to court for his extradicton hearing

Mr.Kashamu is wanted by the US for his involvement in the frafficking of narcotics through the O'Hare International Airport in Chicago,Illonois in the 1990s.

But Mr.Kashamu has said that it was a mistake of identity.For it was his look-alike brother who was dead that was mistaken for him.

However,Mr.Kashamu was once held in a British prison for five years,but eventually released when his extradiction to the US failed in 2003 due to uncertainty about his identity.

About a dozen people was pleaded guilty in the drug deal as at the time including American Piper Kerman.Though Kerman never identified Kashamu by name,but stated a West African kingpin.

Mr.Kashamu has said through his spokesman that the latest development was a political conspiracy against him.
