NDLEA smashes an international drug syndicate
The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) has smashed an international drug trafficking syndicate run by a 37-year-old businessman.
The drug baron who shuttles from Lagos to Anambra state was arrested in his home town in Anambra,where the anti-drug agency discovered three laboratories.
The suspect specializes in recruiting and sponsoring drug couriers to China,Malaysia and Turkey,pays his couriers $5,000 per trip.
NDLEA boss,Ahmadu Giade told newsmen on Wednesday that the suspect hide under the cover of a motorcycle parts dealer in running his international affliated drug racket.
Two Nigerian international passports,one Ghanaian passport all bearing his photographs but with different names were recovered from his house.
Also recovered was another two passports belonging to suspected couriers.
One Rapheal,a methamphetamine expert whom he hired and pays #500,000 for work done and #700,000 for the purchase of precursor chemicals per production circle was also arrested.
